A Great Golfing Day For Bethany Junior School Children
Twelve lucky children from Bethany Junior School in Bournemouth had the ultimate golfing experience at Remedy Oak Golf Club, one of the UK’s top courses, all thanks to Variety the Children’s Charity!
They kicked off the day with a tour of the stunning 256-acre course, taking in the breath-taking autumn views while learning about the ins and outs of the game—from fairways to bunkers!
Next up, they took a swing at the driving range (with a little help from golf pro Dominic Knight) and even got to try out the club’s golf buggies with Aaron, the operations manager.
But the real highlight? The soda gun! Big thanks to Marta for letting the kids pour their own fizzy drinks—it was a total hit!
After all the fun, the kids refuelled with a tasty lunch of sandwiches and hot chips in the club’s smart restaurant.
Club member Peter Jenkins who organised the event on behalf of Variety Wessex was delighted that the golf day had gone so well:
It’s been a pleasure to watch these children enjoying their experiences here at Remedy Oak. They have been so well behaved and we have all had a fantastic time.
Frances Cornelius, chair of Variety Wessex, said:
Thank you everyone at Remedy Oak Golf Club for giving these children such a wonderful day, particularly Dominic for the individual tuition each child received and the fantastic experience of seeing, at first hand, such an impressive golf course, and on such a gorgeous sunny day. Thank you Peter for organising this wonderful day and thank you too Phil our Laguna driver who manoeuvred the coach so expertly down the narrow lanes and long driveway to the club.
