This is the 9th year of the event being run by organiser Stephen Morrison (Compliance Director, Carlton) but the first year that the event had ventured north and west in Scotland. The event brings together the bingo sector and, for the first time, participants from all the main operators – major and independents – were represented. They were joined by sector contractors who support the business on a day-to-day basis together with key Carlton contractors. The day is always made more enjoyable by the support it receives from those attending and this year special mention goes to Shipley Creative and Club 3000, the main financial supporters of the charity day.

Companies represented included Shipley Creative, BJs Bingo, Club 3000, Buzz Bingo, Mecca Bingo, Dalriada Trustees, Cowells, 7’s Above, Leisure Electronics, Novomatic, Crown Leisure and the Bingo Association. The groups set off from 1st and 10th tees and the course soon opened up some spectacular views of the surrounding hillsides, including Ben Lomond and, of course, Loch Lomond itself. Unfortunately, some of the golf on show was not as spectacular but there were enough decent performances to crown some prize winners at an after dinner event held in the club house. These included:

  • Best Individual Stableford: Richard Laciok (Globe Bingo) – 37 points.
  • Best Combined Team Stableford: Kevin Temple (Novomatic Gaming), Ian McIntosh (Guest), Jake McCaffery (Carlton, Dunfermline) – 92 points.
  • Nearest the Pins: Mark Woodhouse (Dalriada Trustees) and Jake McCaffery (Carlton, Dunfermline).
  • Longest Drive: Jonathan Morrison (Guest).

Whilst the day is fun for all its serious intention is to raise funds for the Bingo Association nominated charity and generosity on the day helped raise a total of £1,290 which will go to Variety and is added to the growing Bingo Association total where the ambition is to reach the £2M level by the end of this year.

Carlton would like to take the opportunity of thanking all who attended – we appreciate the distances some participants travel to get involved.
