His Majesty King Charles III Named as Patron of Variety, the Children’s Charity
As we celebrate our 75th anniversary in Great Britain we are immensely proud to share this exciting news. King Charles III’s father, the late Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, helped establish Variety in Great Britain 75 years ago. Through his international contacts in the world of show business, he played a crucial role in helping to bring the charity from America to this country in 1949.
We are delighted to maintain our connection to the Royal Family, especially as we mark the first anniversary of Their Majesties’ Coronation.
Variety, the Children’s Charity is deeply honoured that His Majesty King Charles III has become Patron of our great Charity. That this is announced as Variety, the Children’s Charity celebrates its 75th anniversary makes this wonderful moment even more special. It was The King’s late Father, the previous Duke of Edinburgh who was pivotal in establishing Variety Club in 1949, later renamed Variety, the Children’s Charity.
In the last year alone, Variety, the Children’s Charity was able to help over 160,000 disabled and disadvantaged children. This wonderful Patronage will only serve to allow us to increase the number of children we are able to help, support and serve.
As we reflect on this Patronage being granted, we are indebted to everyone associated with Variety, the Children’s Charity over the years, past and present. This recognition by His Majesty The King is very much testament to everyone who has given support whether time, love or financial. To you all we say, ‘Thank You’.
