The Michael Josephson MBE Charity Ball Raises Over £1million for Children’s Charities
Charities supported on the night by Michael were Variety, the Children’s Charity, Mahdlo Youth Zone, The Anne Frank Trust UK, Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, and other smaller charities in the Region.
The Michael Josephson MBE Charity Ball is an annual event that raises funds for children’s charities in the Northwest. Over the years, Michael has helped countless children to live their best lives and achieve their potential thanks to the funds raised at these star-studded events.
The night of top-quality entertainment was hosted by Happy Radio’s Darren Proctor. With stunning performances from Sophie Ellis-Bextor and The Overtones, as well as a spectacular Moulin Rouge Tribute, guests were treated to an unforgettable night.
Among those in attendance were boxer and Dancing on Ice contestant Ricky Hatton, comedian and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Les Dennis, Hi-de-Hi’s Su Pollard, former King of the Jungle Christopher Biggins, Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas with wife Lucy Mecklenburgh, Hollyoaks favourite Jorgie Porter, Manchester United legends Paul Scholes and Bryan Robson, Gogglebox stars the Malones, and former Sugarbabes star Heidi Range with husband Alex Partakis.
Michael said:
I am speechless at the love and support in that room on Saturday night.
Each and every person that came out with a commitment to raise lots of money for our chosen charities. It is absolutely wonderful and I can’t thank everyone enough for joining us this year.
I am so proud of what we all achieved and I can’t wait to see the difference that the money will make to the lives of thousands of children across the UK.

I’ve been a follower of Michael’s philanthropic work for a number of years and it’s amazing to finally be here to perform and experience this incredible event.
The atmosphere in the room was electric and the amount raised was absolutely incredible.
Professor Shallit OBE, Chief Barker of Variety, the Children’s Charity 2023, who attended the ball on Saturday night, said:
I was totally blown away by Michael’s hard work and dedication to bringing such a magical evening to fruition. The room was filled with love and a true spirit of giving, which was a joy to behold. The money raised will change lives and we can’t thank Michael enough for his efforts.
Reflecting at the end of the evening, Michael said:
