Marc Goldberg CEO sales and distribution at Together and George Downing Chairman of the Downing Group, presented a new Sunshine Coach to The Pendlebury Centre in Stockport.
Together and Downing both sponsors of the” North West Props Awards” 2023 that took place at the Hilton Hotel agreed to jointly sponsor a Variety Sunshine Coach to transform the lives of so many disabled and disadvantaged young children and adults.

The Pendlebury Centre plays a crucial role in supporting young people who are referred to schools that recognise their inability to provide the specialised care required for these students to progress in their education. At The Pendlebury Centre, each child is seen as an individual with unique needs, and the teaching methods are tailored to accommodate their specific circumstances. By prioritising the safety, validation, and active listening of each student, the Centre creates an environment where they can feel secure and heard. The children face a multitude of challenges that have a profound impact on their social, emotional, and mental well-being, hindering their ability to feel secure within society and engage in mainstream education.

George Downing said:

We have witnessed first-hand the wonderful impact a Sunshine Coach makes to children, teachers, staff and parents. We are delighted to be able to donate a second Sunshine Coach from Downing in 2024.

We’re fully committed to keep supporting Variety in all the great work it does to provide more and more opportunities and great experiences for children and young adults to enjoy many years of fun, educational activities and making special memories that they will treasure for life.

Marc Goldberg, CEO sales and distribution at Together said:

The Pendlebury Centre plays an incredibly important role in our community; they provide much needed support to young people who need it most. Many of these children have been unable to experience the world, and the Sunshine Coach will grant them the opportunity to access school trips, therapies and activities that they otherwise could not.

Together is honoured to have been able to jointly sponsor the Sunshine Coach for these children. We look forward to welcoming the coach to our offices, meeting the team involved, and to following the brilliant service it will provide over the next decade.

Head teacher Jane said:

The Pendlebury Centre supports secondary aged children who have significant social, emotional and mental health difficulties.  Our students find it incredibly challenging to engage in either social or unfamiliar settings.

With our new minibus, we will be able to support our students in accessing experiences and opportunities not only within our local community, but way beyond. It will allow us to extend our enrichment offer and the life experiences of our students to support their resilience, independence and understanding moving forward.

I cannot thank our sponsors Together and Downing enough for ensuring our ambitions can be realised, and Variety ,the Children’s Charity for their support and diligence.
