In 2018, Karl’s family approached Variety for a Molli suit. This is a body suit that uses mild electro-stimulation to reduce undesired reflexes and muscle stiffness. Relaxing the muscles enables active movement and a gradual improvement in mobility.

Thanks to Variety’s intervention, Karl’s posture has improved greatly. He can now sit with a little help, and hold his head up. He can also use his hands better and even flex his wrists, something his therapist wasn’t expecting him to be able to do.

The Molli suit allows him to relax so much that he can tolerate lying down, and he even holds toys now for an extended period of time.

Karl’s mother calls the Molli suit his own personal therapist, as it’s the only way he settlesfully. That , and of course being with his best friend, Johnny the dog.
